Encyclopedias and Dictionaries

Encyclopedia Britannica. A comprehensive reference and learning resource. It offers encyclopedia articles and learning materials correlated to curriculum standards.

Funk & Wagnalls New World Encyclopedia. Over 25,000 encyclopedic entries covering a variety of subject areas.

ProQuest Reference. Search a full-text collection of reference books including The Ethnic Cultures of America, Occupational Outlook Handbook, and the World Factbook.
 

 

Magazine and Newspaper Articles

Custom Newspapers. A collection of more than 900 newspapers, both national and international.

National Newspaper Index. Access to The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Christian Science Monitor, Los Angeles Times and The Washington Post.

New York State News Papers. Indexes 28 major newspapers published in the state of New York, including the New York Times and the New York Post.

Platinum Periodicals. Search a collection of periodicals covering all aspects of general reference including arts, business, humanities, health, social sciences, sciences, and current affairs.

ProQuest Newspapers. Full text of USA Today, Christian Science Monitor, and other local, national and international newspapers.
 
 
 

Subject-specific Databases

Business and Company ASAP. A variety of information on companies, markets and industries from market trends, mergers and acquisitions to current management theory and company overviews.

Business and Company Resource Center. Detailed company and industry news and information including company profiles, brand information, rankings, investment reports, company histories, chronologies and periodicals.

EBSCO Animals. In-depth information on a variety of topics relating to the nature and habitat of animals.

Health and Wellness Resource Center and Alternative Health Module. Provides access to medical reference materials from health/medical journals, pamphlets, videos and articles.

Teacher Journals. Search selected professional educators' titles covering current issues in education.

The Twayne Authors Series . Comprises 600 full-text titles from the Twayne Literary Masters series, 200 each from Twayne World, US, and English Authors.

EBSCO Databases. Includes EBSCO Animals and Funk & Wagnalls New World Encyclopedia.

Gale Databases. Includes Business and Company ASAP, Custom Newspapers, Business and Company Resource Center, Business and Company Resource Center, Health and Wellness Resource Center and Alternative Health Module, National Newspaper Index, New York State News Papers, and the The Twayne Authors Series.

Google Scholar. Provides a search of scholarly literature across many disciplines and sources, including theses, books, abstracts and articles.

Grolier Databases. This is also a group of cross-searchable databases including the Encyclopedia Americana which contains more than 45,000 articles with a strong coverage of of American and Canadian geography and history, thousands of bibliographies, and hundreds of tables, maps, and images. Also included is the Grolier Multimedia Encyclopedia, a fact-filled reference resource, rich in multimedia content and designed for the young researcher.

ProQuest Platinum. Includes Platinum Periodicals, ProQuest Newspapers, Reference and Teacher Journals.
